Curator: Bárbara Golubick and Joaquín Rodríguez
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fair and the 10th edition of this section, this year expands its exhibition space and the number of invited spaces to participate, with the notion of confluence as its curatorial trigger. The proposal brings together projects that form part of the fair’s history alongside new emerging spaces, investigates traditional and experimental techniques, revisits historical and contemporary themes to explore photography as an experimental record of the world, as an analysis of the relationships between memory and archive, or as an intense modulation between the intimate gaze and social reality through the possibilities generated by these intersections.
NEXT | Out of Focus is a platform to promote intergenerational connections, bring together diverse audiences, and share experiences and explorations. This curatorial proposal continues with the aim of giving visibility to the photography of emerging artists and galleries from across the country, where heterogeneity allows for the exploration of the medium's possibilities.
In this anniversary year, the section once again has the support of the In Situ Award, which seeks to highlight productions from our country with financial support for the winners. As part of a strategic alliance between Pinta BAphoto and the award, a gallery or collective project is given a scholarship for participation in this section at no cost.
