AC LATIN ART

Paula Aranoa

Bio

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1966 and had the privilege of living in cities such as São Paulo, Mexico City and Barcelona. Each of these places has left an indelible mark on me. They are my second homes. I discovered my passion for photography after exploring studies in philosophy, fashion design and landscaping. Everything I received back then continues to beat in my works. Currently, I live and develop my projects in Buenos Aires.
I have actively participated in fairs and exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. The UN has exhibited some of my photos on three occasions. I had the honor of seeing my work published in different books and magazines of international renown. I have also collaborated with Sony Alpha Latin seminars. I photograph the unnoticed so that it ceases to be so. Introspection and silence, together with my camera, are my best allies when it comes to questioning reality and allowing myself to be questioned by it.

Statement

I photograph the unnoticed so that it ceases to be so. Introspection and silence, together with my
camera, are my best allies when it comes to questioning reality and allowing myself to be questioned by it.
My work seeks to capture what is missing from the word. I pursue the veiled, not to reveal it but
to point out its mystery.
Mystery runs through all my work. It appears without stridency and speaks quietly. It hides in the smallest detail, in the detail of the detail. I am attracted by what it has of indication, not by what it has of obscurity.
My terrain is everyday life. When I photograph I place myself on the threshold of the infinite half-open doors
that appear in my routine. I am attracted by traces, not by evidence. That which asks to be seen.
