"Videoproject is a sector dedicated exclusively to the moving image. In its fifth edition, it aims to consolidate itself as a space of recognition and legitimation for artists. Through a guest curator, projects related to video and new media will be selected to be exhibited in the seventeenth edition of BAphoto. "
Rodrigo Alonso (Buenos Aires, 1965)
Independent curator. Rodrigo Alonso has a Bachelor of Arts specialized in contemporary art and new media. Researcher and theorist in the field of technological art, he is a benchmark in the history and present of Latin American new media production. He has published numerous essays and books on the subject. Among his publications, the following stand out: No sabe / No contesta. Prácticas fotográficas contemporáneas desde América Latina, 2008; Calibrando / Diseñando contextos. Prácticas curatoriales para las artes tecnológicas, 2009; Elogio de la Low-Tech. Historia y estética de las artes tecnológicas en América Latina, 2015. He participated in the selection of the most promising young photographers on the international scene for the book Vitamin PH (Phaidon). He is an undergraduate and graduate university professor and advisor to international artistic foundations. In 2011, he was curator of the Argentine Pavilion at the LIV Venice Biennale.
